I want to share with you what one of our amazing special needs students is doing for Lent

Lent is such an important and special time to share with our children of all ages.  A way of helping them understand and prepare for Easter.  Lent is a time when we spend 40 days drawing close to God, our Heavenly Father, by focusing on His Son, Jesus and the sacrifice He gave for each of us.   As a way of constantly remembering Jesus' sacrifice we decide on something that means a lot to us as an individual and we give up that something for the 40 days.  Each time we want or crave that something and make a concious effort to not have it we think about how small that

Cody is a 13 year old boy and needs a home

Please be in vigilant prayer for a young boy 13 years old named Cody.   I received a call from a CASA advocate about Cody who lives in our area in foster care.  Cody has been permanently removed from his family and is available for adoption.  His sister was separated from him and is currently being adopted by a family that could not take Cody too.   Psalm 68:5-6a tells us "A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.  God sets the lonely in families."   This promise tells us that there is a home just wa

Christmas a time of celebration!

A Commitment from one of our amazing high school students

I went to my inbox this afternoon and found I had an email from one of our high school students.  His mother serves here on our administrative team.  I was moved beyond words by what he had written and by what the youth of our church and the ministry leaders here are doing.  I want to share this with you.  I am so thankful that our church has leadership that is raising up the next generation of leaders to be strong and movitated Christian men and women.  I hope you are moved by this too.

Apostles of Comedy

We had over 500 people to attend our Apostles of Comedy event last night!  Great fun for everyone who attended plus the event netted almost $4000.00 for our foster care/adoption and orphan ministries.  Early in the evening we were challenged  to adopt 50 children through World Vision.  YOU are the most giving church!!!  Congratulations you are now parents to 60 new adopted World Vision orphans!!  A new record for World Vision, for one church, in one evening!  Thank you - Thank you

Arrow Retreat with Special Blessings Ministry

Something I read this week....The Funny Side of Parenting......Frustrated, I was hunting all over the house for my cordless phone. After several minutes of searching, my ten-year-old son said, “You know Mom, I've got an idea. We should invent a phone that stays connected to its base so it never gets lost.”

World Global Outreach Trip to Honduras

There should have been a 10 day period between my landing from China and taking off for Honduras but Hurricane Ike set China back a week so I was on ground less than 3 days. Landing in Tegucigalpa the capital of Honduras you are immediately struck by the beauty of the country.
