Special Blessings (PreK - 6th grade)
Special Blessings serves children with special needs. We offer Sunday morning programs as well as other social and recreational opportunities. Our desire is to share the love of Christ with your child and help them build Godly relationships that will last a lifetime.
Worship
Our goal is to match your special needs student with a loving volunteer who will partner with your family to provide weekly care and companionship to mainstream in an age appropriate environment. We work with each student individually to make transitions appropriate for them and allow for away time if needed. We have volunteers available to assist with children who are unable to mainstream. We have a special classroom where you can meet your volunteer and receive a beeper while you are in worship.

Fellowship and Support
Mom's Group - Meet other moms of special needs children. Moms Bible Study meets every other Thursday at 10:00 - 11:30 in Planet 56. Give us a call for more information. Nursery available on request, email Debbie Glass at dglass@twumc.org
Learning Lab - Our learning lab includes items such as a large swing, therapy balls, a hippotherapy simulation horse, and other therapeutic toys. The lab is available for you to use with your family or therapist M,T,Th 8:30-5:00 and on Wed. 8:30-7:00, Friday 8:30-3:00 Closed on weekends. This room is a great place for a private therapy session or for practicing skills in between therapy sessions.

Special Champions Basketball League
Special Champions is an exciting basketball league for children with special needs. We play on Saturday afternoons for one hour in the TWUMC gym. There are no practices. Athletes play at their ability level and are assisted by caring volunteers. Our next season begins October, 2010. Registration will be available online. Community Events
United Cerebral Palsy offers Family Day Out at TWUMC once a month. This respite program allows children to participate in recreation and craft activities and be matched one-on-one with a "buddy."
